Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Ghana Secretariat & Youth Center

The Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya Ghana (MKAGH) Secretariat in Greater Accra was envisioned as more than an office building — it is a modern Youth Center designed to reflect energy, service, and community. As an architect, my goal was to create a space that merges formality and informality, balancing professional work with hospitality and social interaction.

Inside, light-filled interiors and flexible open layouts set the tone for productivity, learning, and recreation. The building supports the official functions of the national Amila (Executive Body) and both permanent and casual staff, while also welcoming young people for programs, workshops, and networking events. By combining workspaces with recreational areas, the Secretariat becomes a place where individuals can focus deeply yet also gather for collective growth.

The design strategy placed strong emphasis on community participation. With an active street front and transparent edges, the building integrates seamlessly into its urban context, encouraging public use. This openness transforms the Secretariat into a true hub of activity — from official meetings and youth initiatives to informal gatherings that strengthen bonds across generations.

What sets this project apart is its balance between service and hospitality. It is a contemporary civic building that is welcoming, adaptable, and inclusive. By fusing modern architecture with youth-focused programming, the Secretariat is positioned to become one of Accra’s most dynamic destinations for leadership, collaboration, and meaningful interaction.

In essence, the MKAGH Secretariat is a space for growth, service, and connection — a building where architecture supports purpose, and where the next generation of leaders and community members can thrive.
